Live Performance in Second Life

For this IQP, we will be performing a play in the on-line virtual world of Second Life (secondlife.com).   Similar to a traditional play, we will choose a script, create characters, costumes, build a set, light the set, memorize lines, direct and block the actors, advertise the play and perform it before an audience on opening night.   The difference will be that all of the actors will be Second Life avatars, their movements will be animated, and the audience may be all over the world.   It can be thought of as a virtual puppet-show in 3D network space.

Interested students should have a background or interest in theater, art, and some experience with 3D modeling and animation would be helpful.
